One of the best things about being born gay is that, when you finally stop trying to deny who you are, you become a part of this wonderful community. The queer community has used humor to deal with the pain of rejection and discrimination for years. There is a saying about how a broken heart has a greater capacity for love. Nowhere is this better showcased than in a good drag show or queer variety show.
